Survey on Education and Trustees
Published by Rob Campbell [Rob Campbell] on 2007/10/2 (1027 reads)

The citizens of Ontario were surveyed recently in a poll commissioned by the Columbia Institute and which was sent to me. I believe that the poll was conducted shortly before Mr. Tory made his election promise re religious funding extension and which subsequently skewed education issues debate in Ontario. I think the poll must be read with that in mind as to what citizens think is the perhaps the more enduring number one education issue ... funding. It also provides regional breakdowns in trust of trustees and so forth. Those interested in city councils may find this poll interesting also as half of it is about that side of local government. The poll release received some splash recently with Toronto media but was not reported on here to my knowledge.

It is possible that questions of school board governance may come up in the next government mandate. The question of the value-added of school boards, if there is one and what it is if there is one, may eventually come to the fore. It's worth perhaps starting to think about.

Its a slideshow link and interesting I think ... happy reading ...
